Elizabeth Hastings is an Australian art consultant and government-approved valuer with 25 years of global experience in art museums, auction houses, commercial galleries and private collections.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) at the University of Melbourne, Elizabeth commenced her career at the Bendigo Art Gallery.  In 1996, she was awarded the Harold Wright Scholarship to study Prints and Drawings at the British Museum. She remained in London for five years, working as an art valuer at Sotheby's.  Valuation jobs took her to Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich and Rome. A highlight was being among the team to value the Althorp collection, home of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

Elizabeth returned to Australia and managed Liverpool Street Gallery. In 2010, she established a Sydney-based art consultancy and, for the past decade, has curated one of the most significant private art collections in Australia.  Recent advisory roles have enabled Elizabeth to procure art for private residences; curate collections for corporate offices; commission a sculpture for St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney and publish books in association with The Beagle Press

Elizabeth brings a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts to offer bespoke advice for buying, selling, commissioning and exhibiting art. She is an approved valuer for the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program, specialising in Australian paintings, prints, drawings, photography and sculpture after 1900. She is qualified to provide valuations for insurance, probate, estate planning, marital settlement and tax-deductible donations.  She is a member of the Art Consulting Association of Australia and the Auctioneers & Valuers Association of Australia.
